Please? Is this progress? We humans are proud of all our technical know-how and scientific advances in physics, biochemistry and cosmology - so when it is routine for rockets to lift payloads or people into orbit why is providing clean water to Aminata and several million others such a massive problem? It is impossible to ignore this contradiction when however distasteful the cost of weapons and standing armies are translated into resources to provide all seven billion souls with fresh water and food, shelter and medicine. Please forgive me but the equally huge sums which are poured into international sporting events, not to mention the complete refusal to limit soccer, football, tennis and (insert any televised sport). How to make people aware of the enormous and cruel crimes commited either complicitly by attending these events or directly by paying for television subscriptions, merchandise and entry to stadia. :((.
