Olympian Jo Pavey supports World Marathon Challenge

Friday 6 July 2012

TeamGB distance running star Jo Pavey is supporting this year’s World Marathon Challenge.

The 2012 European 10,000 metre silver medalist and four-time Olympian told us: “I’m delighted to be supporting the Save the Children’s World Marathon Challenge again this year. Running is my passion, and the World Marathon Challenge is a such wonderful event to inspire the next generation of athletes.

“Where else can children of all abilities compete in a real international race, racing simultaneously with kids from countries they’ve possibly never even heard of?

“It’s so inspiring for the children, and has the extra special dimension of bringing to life the harsh realities of life for children blighted by malnutrition.”

Jo’s support for the World Marathon Challenge was featured in last week’s Athletics Weekly.
