Quadruple Olympic Champion Sir Mo Farah was born in Somalia, and moved to the UK when he was eight years old. During his childhood, he didn’t see the severe affects that drought can have on local communities, but having visited again in 2011, the impact of the drought was clear.
In light of the issue, Sir Mo Farah has issued an urgent plea for help, in support of our East Africa Food Crisis Appeal.
He still has family in Somalia and Somaliland, some of them living in the worst affected areas, and when he went to see just how severe things had become, he was shocked and hurt.Read full post
