Education for all in Montenegro

It’s exactly a month since my colleagues and I started the campaign “STVARNO-For Real”. It’s not a sunny day today when I look through the window, but inside me I feel good because in this small country, such as Montenegro is, we have gathered a big group of people that are interested to contribute towards the implementation of inclusive education in Montenegro – a great achievement! TVs and radios are emitting advertisements for free, and in this way we have managed to get lots of media coverage. Members of the coalition group for promoting inclusive education are engaged to be guests at various TV and radio stations.

People are expecting something from the campaign, and each and every one of us know or have heard that there is a child that needs our attention and love in order to be happy. It’s the inner energy that we want to use for the campaign and influence different people to hear about inclusive education and the right of every child to go to school.

The campaign has two aims: one is to inform and the other is to influence the financial situation of education in Montenegro. The second aim is addressed by the campaign. People can donate through messages texted to 14988 and business people can buy some didactic materials or facilities for specific schools from a catalogue. We also plan to send letters to all the Ministries and Mayors and point out the actual problems that exist.

One of the reporters said that the situation of Inclusive Education in Montenegro is not bright, and she is right! Inclusion is a process and the campaign is only one step in the ladder of success…
