A rainy start to the weekend

After the heavy rain over the past couple of days there have been flash floods and landslides in the rural areas surrounding Mazar. It is still unconfirmed if people have died but it is evident that hundreds have been displaced due to their homes being destroyed and it is bad news for farmers who have experienced damage to agricultural land and livestock losses.  Although it’s the weekend, our emergencies team are immediately out there, assessing the situation, ready to distribute essential food items, hygiene kits and drinking water.
