Why has education disappeared from the themes menu?

As part of the Education team here in London, noticing all the hard work that goes into education here and everywhere, I’m almost heartbroken to see that we haven’t received enough visitors so as to appear in the navigation menu that prompts which blog is the most popular by theme.

Let me ramble on a little. Education is one of the biggest Save the Children’s programmes worldwide. Collectively, we are working hard to reach our target to reach 3 million children in conflict affected and fragile states (CAFs) by 2015, and ensure they will all receive an adequate education, that concentrates on better numeracy, literacy, rights awareness and life skills.

Did you know that?

In almost every emergency we also work hard to ensure humanitarian responses include the right to education. Such is the case in Pakistan, where merit goes to all those that are working hard to ensure basic services reach the affected population (more to come on this).

How many times have you heard of education in an emergency response? We also work on policy changes that will have a positive impact on children’s education nationwide and worldwide and most importantly, insist on a child’s right to education.

Do you know how? Maybe it’s just a case of blogging more to let you know what we are actually achieving with all our work. Our education masterplan to come once summer holidays are over and people are back. In the meantime, fellow bloggers, please do send us some recommendations.
