Born to Run: visit to Downing Street

I really enjoyed the No Child Born to Die campaign meeting at Downing Street last week. I felt very honoured to be there representing the Born to Run campaign.

Samantha Cameron opened the meeting and did a really great speech. We were all given the opportunity to say a few words about how we’re involved and the ideas we have. It was so interesting to listen to the other speakers, they were very inspirational.

There were people who had worked for Save the Children for many years, adults and children who had done some fantastic activities to raise money, as well as celebrities. It was lovely to meet Duffy, she was so nice and friendly, and keen to help. It was also great to talk to Peta Bee who has been leading a Born to Run group and I’m excited about the prospect of a Global Marathon Relay for children.

I left the meeting feeling very motivated about the Born to Run campaign and I look forward to meeting with the team after the London marathon to discuss our next steps.
