Enough Food for Everyone IF…

I’m Emanuel Bropleh from Monrovia, Liberia. I’m eighteen years old.

When I was ten, I was taken to a feeding centre. It’s a memory that still stays with me.

Our parents did all they could for us, but they were poor and sadly help came too late for two of my siblings. They became severely undernourished and as a result they became much slower at learning.

It was a terrible thing to see, and I resolved to do something about it.

Campaigning for change

I started to campaign for children to have better nutrition and other basic services.

I led peaceful marches across Liberia, and campaigned to make sure that children had access to food, education, health and were protected from violence.

In 2012 I helped launch Save the Children’s report, A Life Free From Hunger, with the Liberian Minister of Health.

I’ve dedicated myself to children’s rights, becoming Speaker of the Children’s Parliament of Liberia and I’m very proud of what I’ve managed to achieve.

But we need to stop malnutrition on a global scale, so I’m asking everyone to take an action to prevent the sort of permanent harm that my siblings experienced.
