Volunteers’ Week: A huge thank you

Dear friends,

Happy Volunteers’ Week 2018! The theme this year is ‘volunteering for all’, celebrating the huge range of people who give their time in so many ways – and that couldn’t be more relevant here at Save the Children. We’re incredibly fortunate to have more than 6000 formal volunteers who share their skills and experience with us through volunteering.

I’d like to say a huge thank you for your generosity in giving your time to bring hope, safety and support to children around the world. Whether you help to run one of our shops, are a member of our speaker network, campaign on our behalf, fundraise within your local community or directly support children through one of our programmes here in the UK – you make a huge difference every day.

The last few months have been challenging for Save the Children and, as our representatives out there in your local community, I’m sure it has not been the easiest time to be a volunteer. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to helping us continue our work. I want to reassure you that our commitment to delivering breakthroughs for children is in no way diminished. With your support, we will continue to do everything in our power to achieve the ambition we have set for children. Our mission is simply too important to fail.

It’s my number one priority over the coming months to ensure that Save the Children UK emerges a stronger, kinder and more resilient organisation and I’m very pleased to have you with us on this journey.

Thanks for again for all of the wonderful work you do for us. We’ll be celebrating you and all of our volunteers this week – I do hope you can join us and celebrate all that you’ve achieved for children.

Best wishes,

Kevin
