David Mepham

David Mepham has been Director of Policy at Save the Children since September 2007, and is also the lead Director of the EveryOne Newborn and Child Survival campaign for Save the Children UK. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Global Governance at the London School of Economics. He worked previously for the independent think tank, the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr), as an Associate Director and the head of its international programme (2002 to 2007). Prior to this, David worked as a Special Adviser in the UK Department for International Development (1998 to 2002), where he was closely involved in the Government's International Development White Paper, Making Globalisation Work for the Poor, and the development of the G8 Africa Action Plan. Between 1997 and 1998, he was the Head of the British Foreign Policy Programme for Saferworld. And from 1994 to 1997, he worked as the international policy specialist in the policy department of the Labour Party. David studied at Oxford University and the London School of Economics. David is married with two children.
