The richest 10% of Brazilians enjoy 50% of the country’s income, while the poorest 10% receive less than 1%. Half of the country’s 60 million children live in poverty — mostly those from indigenous communities or of African descent. It’s estimated that 6 million children are involved in child labour, many of them subject to exploitation and abuse.
